Wounds and Wings is an independent art exhibition curated by Dongye Xu and Mudi Zhang, reflecting on the wounds of conflict and the human capacity to heal. Through art, we invite reflection—and action.

In a world roiled by turbulence, the existence of the individual is as slight as a feather. Truth sinks beneath the noise; justice remains elusive, forever contested — how are we to situate ourselves amid the relentless current that records each yesterday as history? How do we discern what is “real”?

Wounds and Wings does not offer easy answers. Rather, it is a sharing of perspectives — an invitation. It turns its gaze to wounds both visible and invisible: the marks left by confrontation, transformation, and impermanence. At the same time, it seeks the origins of the wing — the faint glimmers of mutual care among individuals, the building of utopian homes, the dreaming of a life worth living.

Here, no definitions or conclusions are imposed. Our focus returns to the human: to those struggling in the whirlpools of daily life, to the quiet whispers that go unheard. We ask: when everything remains unresolved, what can we do? Perhaps the answer lies in acts of empathy — in seeing those who fall, in extending a hand, in guarding real people and real feelings.

Wounds and Wings seeks to awaken a shared reflection, to become a presence in each other’s gaze amid an age of uncertainty. This may be our most genuine and powerful stance in facing the unknown.
When the flood surges forth, can a single feather alter its course?
